Trump: “Iran will never have nuclear weapons.” And he announces the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz

“All the while, my three representatives have become, not surprisingly, very friendly and respectful towards the Iranian representatives, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Ali Bagheri. This, however, does not matter because they have remained adamant on the most important issue and, as I have always said from the beginning and many years ago, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon“, Trump reiterates.

Naval blockade in Hormuz

The Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for the trade of 20% of the world’s oil, remains closed. “Iran had promised to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, but consciously chose not to do so. This has caused anxiety, inconvenience and suffering to many people and many countries around the world. The Iranians say they have placed mines in the water, even though their entire Navy and most of their minelaying ships have been completely destroyed,” Trump says.

“They may have done so, but what shipowner would want to take such a risk? Iran and the remnants of its ‘leaders’ have suffered great damage and lost their honor forever. But we are now beyond all this. As promised, they would do better to start the process of reopening this international waterway as soon as possible. Already on Saturday, according to the American central command (Centcom), two destroyers crossed the Strait to lay the foundations for a mission aimed at clearing mines in the stretch of sea.

Trump announces the further step: “Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the best in the world, will begin the process of blocking all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz. At some point, we will get to a situation where ‘everyone will be allowed in, everyone will be allowed out’. Iran didn’t allow it and just said, ‘There might be a mine somewhere out there,’ nobody knows about it except the Iranians. This is global extortion,” Trump says, referring to the mines that Tehran allegedly placed in the sea.

Will the war start again?

“Leaders of countries, especially the United States of America, will never be victims of extortion. I have also instructed our Navy to locate and intercept any vessel in international waters that has paid a toll to Iran. No one who pays an illegal toll will be able to sail safely on the high seas. We will also begin to destroy the mines that the Iranians have placed in the Strait. Any Iranian who fires at us, or at peaceful ships, will be blown to pieces,” Trump threatens.

“Iran knows, better than anyone, how to put an end to this situation that has already devastated the country. Their Navy is destroyed, their Air Force is destroyed, their anti-aircraft and radars are useless, Khamenei and most of their ‘leaders’ are deadall because of their nuclear ambitions,” he says, announcing that “the blockade will begin shortly. Other countries will be involved in this blockade. Iran will not be allowed to profit from this illegal act of extortion. They want money and, above all, they want nuclear power,” he says before the final warning: “At the right time we are fully ‘ready to fire’ and our army will obliterate what little remains of Iran“.
