Schildenfeld: ‘I didn’t know that Mamić ‘earned’ €200,000 from the transfer. It was important for me to play’

The trial of Zdravko and Zoran Mami and Damir Vrbanovic for extracting money from Dinamo. Schildenfeld explained that he played in Dinamo on two occasions, first in 2007 with a one-year contract, and then in 2015. He came to Dinamo from Šibenik, and was brought by his friend and football player Josip Bulat.

– Dinamo respected all the terms of my contract. I don’t know if I was entitled to part of the transfer compensation under that contract. I went to Besiktas from Dinamo for the first time. Regarding that transfer, I spoke with Zoran Mamić, who told me that there was interest in me.

At that time, I didn’t have a manager to represent me, so I talked about it with Josip Bulat, who was my advisor and whom I trusted. When I told Zoran that I was interested in Besiktas, Mario Mami entered the conversation. who traveled with us to Istanbul because he was negotiating the terms of the transfer to Dinamo. Bulat and I agreed on terms for me. I don’t know what Mario arranged for himself and Dinamo with Besiktas.

My conditions were met, I signed the contract and I was there for a year. I later returned to Dinamo in 2015. I came as a free gameč from Greek Panathinaikos. Zdravko called me, showed interest, we agreed in five minutes and that was it. I don’t know if there were managers involved in that transfer, some were mentioned – explained the former coach of NK Vukovar.

Schildenfeld did not know whether Mario Mamić collected from his transfer to Istanbul nor how much that transfer was worth.

According to USKOK’s indictment, the transfer was worth two million euros, and Zdravko Mami’s accounts ended up with around 200 thousand euros for mediating the transfer. This money was paid to a foreign company in the name of Mario Mami, who then withdrew the cash and transferred it to his father’s accounts.

– When people from Dinamo came to Arsenal to negotiate the transfer of da Silva, I was there in case something needed to be translated. I don’t know how that transfer came about and what was the agreement between the clubs. As a coach, I never dealt with transfers.

People from Arsenal, the director and financial director, as well as Zdravko and Zoran Mamić, but also some other people from Dinamo that I did not know, came to those negotiations. We played several times with Dinamo while the coach was Kuž and Dinamo left a good impression.

At the meeting, they talked in English about what Eduardo is like, but I don’t know anything about what conditions they promised him and how much Arsenal should pay to Dinamo – Primorac explained, adding that he thinks that footballer da Silva was not present at the negotiations.

He repeatedly pointed out that he did not know any details about the transfer, but that Arsene Wenger, who was Arsenal’s coach at the time and was also at the meeting, could know.
