Abbas agreed to accept Gaza only along with East Jerusalem

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas told Secretary of State Antony Blinken that the PA would be prepared to take control of the Gaza Strip only if there was a full and final resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

“This will happen as part of a comprehensive solution that will include the entire West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip,” said the head of the Palestinian Authority.

Note that Blinken’s visit to Ramallah was surrounded by a veil of secrecy. The Secretary of State returned from Amman to Tel Aviv by plane, and from the airport left for Ramallah in an armored car, accompanied by motorcyclists.
