Swedish police detained 19 pro-Palestinian activists who barricaded themselves in the main building of the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, demanding that it cut ties with Israeli universities. Protesters shouted “Free Palestine!” and hung Palestinian flags outside the windows.
It took police two hours to remove the activists, whose faces were covered with balaclavas, from the building.
Those detained will likely face charges of trespassing and disobeying police, law enforcement officials said.
