“First electric Ferrari will cost at least 500,000 euros”

The first electric model from the Italian sports car manufacturer Ferrari will cost at least 500,000 euros. This is what the Reuters news agency writes, based on an anonymous source within the company.

Ferrari is traditionally equated with roaring engines, but the company now has concrete plans for an electric car. It would come on the market at the end of next year. Production will take place in Maranello, the brand’s home base. Ferrari is currently building a new factory there, which could increase total production by a third, the anonymous source said.

The price of 500,000 euros is for the basic version without extras. The price is also much higher than existing Ferrari models, which cost an average of 350,000 euros, writes Reuters, comparable to other luxury brands. But Ferrari likes to present itself as exclusive, with a maximum of 20,000 cars of the brand rolling off the production line every year. Some models have a waiting list of up to two years.
