The issue of starting RA-USA direct flights was discussed at the meeting between Sanosyan and the representative of the State Department

The question of starting direct flights between Armenia and the United States was discussed today with the American officials in the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures (TKEN).

TKEN reports that Gnel Sanosyan received the delegation led by Sara Morgenthau, the special representative for trade and business affairs of the US State Department, which also included US Ambassador to Armenia Christina Quinn. A number of issues of bilateral interest were discussed.

Recently, US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Werman, US Deputy Secretary of State James O’Brien were also in Armenia. He participated in the Armenia-United States strategic dialogue session in Yerevan.

And Verma emphasized at the meeting with Foreign Minister Mirzoyan that as a result of the Yerevan discussions, Washington wants to have a clear road map on how they can make progress in the key areas of peace and prosperity, economy, trade, people-to-people contacts and continue RA-US cooperation towards new level.

At the June 19 meeting, Gnel Sanosyan and Sara Morgenthau also discussed the situation created after the disaster in Lori and Tavush marzes. Sara Morgenthau emphasized that the issue of restoration of bridges and other infrastructures after the disaster is in the center of their attention.

The floods of May 26 caused destruction in Lori and Tavush marzes. Roads collapsed, bridges were destroyed, houses were filled with water. 4 casualties were reported.
