Air traffic resumes at Manchester airport after power outage: more than 60 flights cancelled

Air traffic at Manchester airport, the third largest in Great Britain in terms of passenger numbers, will resume on Sunday afternoon after more than sixty flights had to be canceled earlier in the day due to a power outage.

Terminals 1 and 2 of Manchester Airport, in the north of England, were particularly affected by the breakdown. Passengers departing from those terminals were asked not to come to the airport and to contact their airline. Passengers departing from Terminal 3 could face delays and the possibility of their luggage not being on board.

Air traffic was able to resume in the late afternoon. “We are in the process of resuming operations,” the airport said in a statement. No more problems are expected before Monday.
