Israeli embassy guard in Serbia kills unknown gunman who shot him with bow

A security guard at the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade killed an unknown assailant who shot him with an arrow. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Internal Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic said that on Saturday, June 29, an unknown person, whose identity has not yet been established, fired an arrow at a police officer guarding the Israeli Embassy building.

“The 34-year-old policeman, who was shot in the neck with an arrow, used his weapon and neutralized the attacker, who died from his injuries,” Dacic said.

The policeman was taken to the intensive care center, where he will undergo surgery. All circumstances of the attack and the possible motives of the perpetrator are being clarified.

The embassy is closed today, there were no employees in the building.
