Bad Oeynhausen – A Syrian refugee who has lived in Germany for many years is said to have taken a young life. Philippos Tsanis (20) died after Mwafak A. (18) allegedly beat him to death. The mother’s pain over the loss of her son is indescribable. She was the one who campaigned for refugees.

As the “Mindener Tageblatt” reports, the young mother helped Ukrainian war refugees – and even took them in at her home. In March 2022, according to the report, she drove to Poland in her pickup truck. There she picked up at least four refugees from Ukraine.

“I can’t just sit here and watch”

“I can’t sit here at home and watch,” the mother is quoted as saying. “I have family in Ukraine, what they have to go through is simply indescribable.” Some of them were there shortly before the outbreak of war. to Southeast Asia on holiday “They had to cancel their trip and return to the war-torn country to get their children out, who had stayed with their grandparents,” says the Polish-born woman.

Her son Philippos also pitched in and helped to pack the pickup truck with relief supplies.
