Despite the disastrous debate, Biden does not intend to leave the presidential race

US President Joe Biden, despite the extremely unsuccessful outcome of the debates with former President Donald Trump, does not intend to leave the election race, giving way to a younger contender.

“I’m not young anymore. I don’t walk as easily. I’m not as smooth-talking, I’m not as good at debating. But I know how to tell the truth from the lies, I know how to get things done, and I know what millions of Americans know: When you get knocked down, you get back up,” he said at a campaign rally in North Carolina.

During the debates, Biden spoke in a weak voice, not always finishing his sentences and losing the thread of his thoughts. His facial expressions also caused no less concern to the supporters of the Democratic Party: during pauses, Biden often froze with his mouth slightly open and an indifferent expression on his face.

The media also assessed the debate as a failure for the incumbent president. “The best thing Biden can do for the public is to announce he is not running,” the Democratic-leaning New York Times said in an editorial.
