UKMTO reports incident in Red Sea

The Royal Navy’s Maritime Trade Operations Centre (UKMTO) reports an incident in the Red Sea, 13 miles off the port city of al-Mokha in Yemen. No further details have been released.

Let us recall that in November 2023, the Houthis, who control a significant part of the territory of Yemen and act with the support of Iran, began to attack ships, declaring that they were acting in support of the Gaza Strip.

Over the past months, they have sunk two merchant ships and captured another. At least three sailors were killed. The international coalition led by the United States operating against them has not yet been able to ensure the safety of maritime transport.
