Record weekend! 106,000 passengers will pass through the ferry and the airport in Split in both directions

This weekend, traffic in both directions of about 106,000 passengers is expected in the Split airport and ferry port, which is an indication that the tourist pre-season in the Split area is going according to plan.

“This weekend we have the announcement of the arrival of 195 planes from 25 countries, which will transport 46 thousand passengers in both directions, which is a record weekend traffic this year,” he told Hina. Mate Melvan, head of the Passenger Reception and Dispatch Service at that airport.

In the first six months of this year, traffic at the Split airport was ten percent higher than in the same period last year, and an additional increase is expected in the next two months.

“In June, 500,000 passengers passed through the airport in both directions. According to announcements, in July the traffic will be around 750,000 and in August more than 700,000 passengers,” said Melvan.

About 60,000 passengers and about 13,500 vehicles will be transported to and from the islands in Split’s Ferry Port this weekend, which is at the level of last year in the same period, Jadrolinija’s office in Split reported.

“According to vehicle registration marks, most tourists come from Croatia, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia,” said Hini Jelena Ivuli, coordinator of Jadrolinija’s Split shipping area.
