The US Supreme Court made a decision enabling Trump's participation in the election

The U.S. Supreme Court has issued a precedent-setting ruling that bars former President Donald Trump from being prosecuted for any decisions he makes within the scope of his constitutional authority, but will allow prosecution for private actions. The decision will enable Trump to participate in the November 5 elections.

The issue was being examined within the framework of the criminal trial related to the attack on the Capitol carried out by Trump supporters following the 2020 presidential election and the investigation of Trump’s involvement in it. The court of first instance returned the case against Trump on charges of trying to seize power. the judge must decide whether his actions described in the various parts of the indictment were personal decisions or were based on constitutional authority.

Trump himself called the decision a victory for the Constitution.

The decision was adopted with the ratio of 6 votes to 3 against.
