Struff is eliminated at Wimbledon

Tennis pro Jan-Lennard Struff must continue to wait for his first round of 16 at Wimbledon after a rain-related tie. The second-best German tennis pro lost the continuation of his two-day third-round match against Daniil Medvedev from Russia 1:6, 3:6, 6:4, 6:7 (3:7) in London.

The match was interrupted on Friday afternoon due to rain and was not resumed. It was now continued with the score at 1:1 in the fourth set, but was interrupted again due to rain. In addition, the start of play on the uncovered courts had been delayed, so Struff had to exercise patience.

For the Warsteiner, reaching the third round remains his best result at Wimbledon. After 2018 and 2019, Struff reached the third round for the third time. Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev is the last remaining participant. The French Open finalist reached the round of 16 with a three-set win against Briton Cameron Norrie.
