Papikyan and Chikovani discussed Armenia-Georgia cooperation in the field of defense

Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan had a private conversation with his Georgian counterpart, Irakli Chikovani, which was followed by a meeting with the extended delegations.

According to the information of the Armenian military department, issues related to Armenia-Georgia cooperation in the field of defense and regional security were discussed at the meeting.

The parties also presented to each other details on the ongoing reforms in the armed forces of the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, according to the report, the 2024 cooperation plan was signed between the defense ministries of Armenia and Georgia.

Chikovani assumed the position of Minister of Defense of Georgia in February of this year. His first official visit as a minister was to Baku on June 10 of this year.
