Fled with the victim’s Fiesta

Yazir: “When she went into her sewing room to put her things away, one of the defendants throttled her, while another stabbed Heike Kötting with a knife, intent on killing her.” One stab wound hit her carotid artery, two hit her chest. While the young woman bled to death, the criminals made off with their red Fiesta.

For the prosecutor, it was an insidious murder, committed out of greed or to avoid discovery. If the defendants are found guilty, they face prison for the rest of their lives – even though they probably thought they would be safe for half their lives.

According to neighbors, Heike Kötting’s parents never got over the death of their daughter. They moved from Dortmund to Cologne, have since died.
