Four aid workers killed by Israeli airstrikes in Khan Yunis

At least four aid workers were killed on Friday in an airstrike by the Israeli army on an NGO warehouse in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The London-based Al Jair Foundation confirmed in a statement sent to Europa Press on Friday that one of its employees, an engineer identified as Hosam Mansur, was killed in an airstrike on a warehouse of the NGO that supplied aid in the city of Al Mawasi.

“The loss of humanitarian workers is an unfortunate consequence of the ongoing hostilities and only serves to worsen the humanitarian catastrophe affecting Gaza. We call for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and an exchange of prisoners and hostages,” he added.

According to the pan-Arab network Al Jazeera, three other aid workers have been killed in the bombing. The NGO said in its statement that “so far they have not been able to establish the identity” of the remaining victims.

Israel launched an offensive against Gaza following the attacks on October 7 by Palestinian militants, which left some 1,200 dead and nearly 240 kidnapped. The Gaza authorities, controlled by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), have reported more than 38,300 dead since the start of the offensive.
