The Rydultowy mine in the south of Poland, managed by the state group PGG, was hit by an earthquake on Thursday around 8 a.m. at a depth of about 1,200 meters.
One miner died as a result of the earthquake. A total of 76 miners were rescued on Thursday, and 17 of them were hospitalized.
State news channel TVP Info reported that the miner was conscious when rescuers reached him.
Most of the previously hospitalized miners have been released from the hospital, TVP Info announced.
