Speyer – Because the brakes on a float failed, four people were injured at the pretzel festival in Speyer. A 12-year-old girl was trapped between the floats!
The accident happened on Sunday afternoon at around 3:20 p.m. between two moving vans on the edge of the FairAccording to initial police investigations, the brakes of one of the cars failed in a sloping area on the cathedral square.
The police in Speyer (Rheinland-Pfalz): “Despite the driver’s attempt to swerve, the vehicle rolled into a float driving in front of it. Several people who were standing next to and between the floats were pushed onto the float in front.”
Three people (11, 28, 39) were slightly injured. However, a girl (12) suffered such severe injuries to her legs that she had to be flown to a specialist clinic by rescue helicopter. Her health is in good condition, according to the police stable.
