Biden reiterates that he considers himself a Zionist and says he is the person “who has done the most for the Palestinian community”

US President Joe Biden reiterated on Monday that he considers himself a Zionist and added that he is the person “who has done the most for the Palestinian community,” while stating that Arab Muslims should vote for him in the November presidential elections because “it is the best way to maintain peace.”

“You don’t have to be Jewish to be a Zionist. And being a Zionist is about whether Israel is a safe place for Jews because of its history of being persecuted. (…) By the way, I am the man who has done the most for the Palestinian community,” he said, highlighting negotiations with his counterparts in the Middle East, from whom he has received “significant support.”

In this regard, he said that he was the one who “made sure that the Egyptians opened the border and let good products, medicines and food through,” who was “able to bring together the Arab states to agree to help the Palestinians.” He also said that Saudi Arabia wants to “fully recognize” Israel in exchange for weapons and a nuclear facility.

“I have been very supportive of the Palestinians, but Hamas is a group of thugs,” he said, adding that “Hamas has no dignity” because it has committed a “massacre,” referring to October 7, 2023, which had not been “seen since the Holocaust.” Asked why Arab-Americans should vote for him in the elections, he said that it is “the best way to maintain peace, to ensure that there is a two-state solution.”

He also promised that he has “not an ounce of prejudice” in his body: “Arabs are good people. They need help now,” he concluded.

COMMITTED TO REMAINING IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE

Biden made these remarks in an interview recorded last Friday, before the assassination attempt on his predecessor Donald Trump, with Speedy Morman of Complex Networks on the show ‘360 with Speedy’. During the conversation, he said he is “1,000 percent” committed to remaining in the race for the White House.

The president stressed that he is running for re-election to “finish the work” started during this legislature. “I have done more work than any other president in a single term. We have more to do,” he added, after criticizing that “for a long time” he was told that “he was too young” when he was elected senator, and that now he is “too old” but that age gives him “wisdom.”

He also warned of a possible victory for his Republican rival, warning that “his goal” is “to be a dictator from day one.” “He means it. He says he will not recognize the result of the next election,” he said. And he recalled that in the previous elections, in 2020, he appealed on numerous occasions without any court validating his arguments. Afterwards, “he encouraged people to rise up and riot.

On domestic policy, he said the United States has “the strongest economy in the world,” but that they still need to focus on the cost of products they import to people. However, he said they are “going in the right direction.”
