The lawsuit against the “Foreign Agents” law will be sent to the Supreme Court of Georgia tomorrow

The opposition’s claim against the law “On transparency of foreign influence” adopted by the parliament at the initiative of the ruling majority of Georgia will be sent to the Constitutional Court on July 29, the Georgian service of “Freedom” reports.

According to the spread information, the lawsuit was signed by 32 opposition members of the parliament. In addition, President Salome Zurabishvili and the non-governmental sector have already submitted a similar claim to the Constitutional Court.

The so-called “foreign agents” law, similar to one passed in Russia a decade ago, was pushed by the ruling Georgian Dream party and passed in May-June despite a presidential veto, weeks of protests by thousands, and warnings from the West.
