A federal state of emergency has been declared in the Belgorod Region, and troops will be sent to the region

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov said that the Russian General Staff, together with other security agencies and the Belgorod Region administration, had developed an action plan to improve the efficiency of the troop command and control system. It envisages sending additional forces and resources to the region.

On August 15, a federal state of emergency was declared in the Belgorod Region. The reason for this is said to be shelling from the Ukrainian side.

“As a result of terrorist attacks by Ukrainian armed forces in the Belgorod region, residential buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged, and there were dead and injured citizens,” said the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Alexander Kurenkov.

The state of emergency in the Kursk region, where military operations are taking place, was introduced on August 9. On August 10, a counter-terrorist operation was introduced in the Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk regions.
