The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of August 20, 2024, Ukrainian air defense intercepted three Russian missiles and 25 out of 26 Shahed-136/131 (“Geran-2/1”) kamikaze UAVs launched by the Russian military.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ report notes that the Russian army fired two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, an Iskander-K cruise missile, Kh-59 guided air missiles (number not specified), and 26 Shahed-131/136 (Geran-1/2) kamikaze UAVs.
Interceptions of air targets were carried out in the Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev, Kherson, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytsky, Kirovograd, Sumy and Chernihiv regions.
