A man died on Tuesday evening after being shot at Frankfurt central station, a German police spokesman said.
The incident took place at around 9pm in front of the railway line and the station was closed for a few minutes during the night as part of the police operation. The attacker tried to flee but was caught by the officers a few metres from the scene of the crime.
The suspect will appear before the judge on Wednesday, according to the spokesman, who did not provide detailed information on the identity of the individuals involved. The causes of the incident are not yet known.
