Five people killed in shelling of Belgorod region

An air defense system was activated in Belgorod and the Belgorod region. As a result of a shell hitting a passenger car, one person was killed, the region’s governor Vyacheslav Gladkov reported on his Telegram channel. However, the death toll soon rose to five.

“One woman and four men died on the spot from their injuries before the ambulance arrived. 37 civilians were wounded, including six children. Seven adults and three children are in serious condition. All the victims were taken to medical facilities in Belgorod,” Gladkov wrote.

According to Gladkov, several air targets were shot down as they approached the city. In Belgorod, shells hit an apartment building, several commercial properties and a car.
