Russians claim: Five people were killed in Ukraine’s attack on Belgorod

Five people were killed and 46 wounded in a Ukrainian attack on the southwestern Russian city of Belgorod late Friday, the local governor said.

Vyačeslav Gladkov also said that 37 people, including seven children, were transported to the hospital.

A video captured by a car camera and posted on social media shows the explosion of another car as it moves down the road. A few seconds later there is an explosion on the other side of the road.

Ukraine has been regularly attacking Belgorod Oblast and other border regions in Russia for the past few months.

Ukraine and Russia maintain that they are not targeting civilians on purpose in the war that began when Russia sent thousands of troops to the neighboring country in February 2022. Moscow calls the invasion a “special military operation.”
