The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the interception of 27 Russian “shahids”

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that on the night of September 6, 2024, Ukrainian air defense intercepted 27 of 44 kamikaze UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 (Geran-2/1) type launched by the Russian military. Eight drones were lost on Ukrainian territory (probably fell under the influence of electronic warfare systems), one UAV returned to the DPR.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ report notes that the Russian army also fired one Kh-59 air-to-air missile and one Kh-31P anti-radar missile at a target in Ukraine. Apparently, they were not intercepted.

Air targets were intercepted in the Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia, Dnepropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Sumy regions. Air defense continues to intercept air targets, several UAVs are observed in the northern regions of Ukraine.
