The European Aviation Agency is changing its recommendation on Israel
The European Aviation Agency EASA changed today its recommendation not to fly to Israel, which it started on September 28, following the assassination of Nasrallah and the rising tensions in the north. The validity of the original recommendation was until the end of October and it led quite a few airlines from Europe to cancel their flights to Israel, or continue their cancellations that already existed. Meanwhile, just today the Spanish airline, Air Europa, announced that it is canceling its flights to Israel until October 31.

Since the original decision of the European agency, quite a few talks have been held with the agency, including a flight by the Minister of Transportation, Miri Regev, to Hungary, with the aim of changing its decision. Today, as mentioned, the long-awaited change appeared on the EASA website, which confirms that the flight activity to Israel has returned to being “ACTIVE”.

Following the cancellation of the directive of the European Aviation Association on banning flights to Israel, the Bluebird airline announced that it is preparing to immediately resume its flights to Israel, and thanked the Israel Aviation Authority for its assistance in canceling the directive.

It is still not clear how this decision will affect, if at all, additional airlines from Europe returning to fly to Israel, but it is definitely a decision in a positive direction that can finally, after about a month, bring quite a few foreign airlines back here and open up the skies and competition.
