The most expensive hotel room in the world has 20 rooms and costs NIS 365,000 per night. The room is in the Atlantis de Royal hotel in Dubai, which opened exactly one year ago in January 2023 and took first place in the luxury category.The room is actually a suite with four bedrooms, a living space, a dining room, a kitchen, a bar and a games area and an office. The huge space spans two floors, as well as a huge balcony with an infinity pool. Located across the 18th and 19th floors on the building’s sky bridge, the room offers views of famous landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Ferris Wheel and the Arabian Gulf.

“We wanted something that was very elegant, very opulent, rich; something universally beautiful,” Timothy Kelly, president of Atlantis, tells Architectural Digest. “We hoped that guests would be able to walk in and feel at home. You enter through the majestic vaulted private foyers with double-height ceilings,” Kelly says. “When you walk in, you’ll also notice a lot of decorative pieces, which was very important to us. There’s a lot of marble, big pieces that are placed in a way where the stone itself is used as art,” Kelly adds.

The marble covers the walls, the floor and the island in the attached kitchen. Marble can feel stiff, so textiles like silk curtains, silk wool rugs and high thread count sheets were added. “It also has to do with how we ‘pamper’ the guests in the space,” Kelly adds, noting the gold-plated toothbrushes, combs and razors. There are also Hermes bathroom products here; robes from Frette; extensive pillow menu; 146 inch TV; and an exclusive Louis Vuitton ping-pong table. “Our clientele is very specific about their needs,” Kelly says. “They are well traveled, experienced, sophisticated and very clear about what they are looking for.”

Although the suite can accommodate up to nine adults and four children, all the rooms in the block it is located within can connect to a royal mansion that has a total of 20 rooms. The hotel also has personal trainers and gym staff who can come to the suite for a workout. Those who stay here will also have a private massage room, a private elevator and a kitchen where a chef comes to ensure privacy and security.
