Hundreds of Israelis cannot return from Batumi due to heavy snowfall

Strong snowfalls collapsed in the last days to Western Georgia. Many areas were left without electricity and water supply, in the mountainous regions of Ajaria it fell up to a meter of snow, and in Batumi the height of the snow cover was 50 centimeters.

The bad weather entailed a transport collapse, the work of Batumi International Airport also ceased. According to the Israeli media, hundreds of Israelis were stuck in the city, awaiting the resumption of aviation communications.

On the morning of February 25, it became known that flights from Ben-Gurion Airport in Batumi were canceled due to weather conditions. It is expected that snowfall will last a few more days. Those who purchased tickets in Batumi are recommended to monitor the messages of El al-El and Israir.
