Following the publication, the head of the Copenhagen district ordered an immediate investigation to locate the couple. The local police were able to locate the hotel where the couple was staying.

A combined team of the district police and immigration officers, along with the deputy station inspector and the local police chief, arrived at the scene and arrested the couple who were taken to the police offices for questioning. During their investigation, the two admitted that they were the ones recorded in the video posted online.

Following the confession, in Thailand they decided to file an indictment against them for committing an indecent act in public. The police said that this type of behavior is not only a violation of Thai law, but also indicates a lack of respect for local customs and damages the image of one of the popular nature sites in the area.
