Roasted pork sandwich tops the list of 100 most delicious dishes in Vietnam

According to the ranking of “100 best Vietnamese dishes” updated by Taste Atlas until January 10, roasted pork banh mi ranked top. These results are compiled from nearly 8,500 reviews from diners and experts, of which more than 5,500 reviews have been validated by the system based on actual user identification criteria.

Taste Atlas introduces roasted pork sandwiches as a combination of two favorite ingredients: traditional crispy bread crust and crispy-skinned roasted pork belly. The culinary website identifies roasted pork banh mi as a unique variation of Vietnamese banh mi, bringing a more diverse experience than the usual cold meat stuffing.

The highlight of the dish is the pork belly with crispy skin, while the side meat remains soft and succulent. The “soul” of this cake is the sauce made from pork broth marinated with local spices. Ingredients such as pickles, coriander, cucumber and fresh chili help balance the taste, so diners don’t feel sick.

Taste Atlas experts believe that the top position of roasted pork banh mi reflects the trend of global diners’ interest in dishes that combine sophisticated processing techniques and the convenience of street food.

The list of the 10 most delicious dishes in Vietnam includes many dishes from liquid dishes, dry dishes to dipping sauces and stir-fried vegetables.

Behind roasted pork banh mi is Nam Bo beef noodle soup, a dish that impresses with the freshness of herbs, stir-fried beef and roasted peanuts. Beef pho ranked third, highly appreciated thanks to the process of simmering broth from bones, corn and oxtail, combined with a variety of rare and cooked beef.

Mi Quang and dipping sauce hold the 4th and 5th positions respectively. The appearance of dipping sauce on the list shows that international diners appreciate the role of the combination of fish sauce, lemon, sugar and chili garlic in a Vietnamese meal.

The remaining dishes in the top 10 include bun cha, braised beef, Hue beef noodle soup, stir-fried spinach with garlic and shaking beef.

Taste Atlas emphasizes that this result is not based on mass sentiment but is filtered through an algorithm system capable of identifying real users and eliminating fake reviews to ensure objectivity.
