Spring flower festival on Vam Co Dong river

The activity was held at Waterpoint urban area, Ben Luc, opening up a spring vacation space along the river at the western gateway, 30 minutes from the center of Ho Chi Minh City. The festival space is arranged along the Vam Co Dong River, inspired by the traditional Southern flower market, where flower boats, water wharfs and spring colors blend into the rhythm of modern urban life.

According to the organizers, the highlight of the Waterpoint Spring Flower Festival is the riverside flower route, where clusters of miniature landscapes themed “Successful Ma Dao”, nearly 50 food stalls, ornamental creatures and handicrafts are arranged in an open axis, overlooking the water. Flower street is open until February 28.

“The image of the flower boat anchored, bright spring flowers reflecting the Vam Co Dong River creates a typical atmosphere of the Southern river region, different from the flower streets in the city center area,” said a representative of the unit.

The space is designed so that visitors can walk around to enjoy the flowers, stop to admire the river scenery, take photos and participate in traditional experiential activities such as writing calligraphy, drawing conical hats, making to he, asking for New Year’s letters, and folk games.

Besides the flower market, the spring festival also expands to cultural and entertainment activities for many ages. In particular, the opening day of February 7 will have the “Japanese New Year” activity, held at the Vietnamese – Japanese Village. Here, visitors can experience activities such as tea ceremony, Hatsumode ceremony, kendo performance and Mascot parade. The folk games area, traditional Tet experience space and 50 food and handicraft stalls… are points that help keep visitors on the journey. Folk games such as jumping jacks and ring throwing are also integrated, creating a multi-generational playground.

On New Year’s Eve (February 16), the urban space by the river also becomes a venue for a fireworks display event, expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors. Meanwhile, on the first days of the year, the Sales Gallery will take place the activity “picking spring buds”.

Thanks to convenient connection infrastructure, from Ho Chi Minh City, visitors can travel to Waterpoint in about 30-35 minutes via highways. The riverside space, fresh air and many experiential activities help many families choose this as an ideal short-term spring vacation destination.
