The foundation for Vinhomes Green Paradise to aim to attract 40 million visitors

According to some experts, tourism is a big problem for Ho Chi Minh City, welcoming millions of visitors each year, but most only stay for a short time, then branch out to tourist destinations such as Vung Tau, Phu Quoc, Phan Thiet… This place has an influx of tourists, but lacks a “retention coordinate”, to become a regional tourism symbol.

In that context, Can Gio is emerging as a new direction, with both a rare marine forest ecological advantage and a series of strategic infrastructure connecting Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau and Long Thanh airport. On this foundation, Vinhomes develops the Vinhomes Green Paradise project, oriented to become a large-scale tourism – resort – entertainment megacity, expected to welcome 40 million visitors per year.

The investor’s representative said that to reach this number, the project not only needs to be large-scale, but also must meet three important conditions: convenient connection, a large enough experience ecosystem and the ability to serve a diverse stream of visitors all year round.

Connecting infrastructure and strategic location

The first factor that helps a destination reach tens of millions of visitors each year is accessibility. For Vinhomes Green Paradise, this advantage comes from its location in the Can Gio estuary area, and is located in the middle of an infrastructure network that is being promoted with investment.

In the future, the Ben Thanh – Can Gio high-speed railway comes into operation, the travel time from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to the project is estimated to be reduced to about 13 minutes. The Can Gio bridge project to replace the Binh Khanh ferry helps this place increase connectivity by road. In addition, the Can Gio – Vung Tau sea crossing opens a new tourism link between Ho Chi Minh City and the neighboring coastal city. Further, Long Thanh international airport will act as a gateway to welcome domestic and international visitors, contributing to the development of the entire region.

Experts assess that, from a tourism perspective, the value of this infrastructure lies not only in shortening travel time. The new infrastructure also changes Can Gio’s position in the southern tourism map. When major transport axes are completed, the locality can change from the role of a secondary destination to a main accommodation destination, where tourists choose to stay and from there connect back to the center of Ho Chi Minh City or to other localities.

Large-scale utility ecosystem

If infrastructure is a necessary condition to bring guests to their destination, then amenities are a sufficient condition to keep guests there and make them come back. Along with that, Paradise Lagoon of more than 800 hectares creates a beach experience in the heart of the city, adding a resort and relaxation element for groups of guests who want to stay longer. The investor estimates that when a destination has both an amusement park and a beach and resort space, the ability to serve guests of many ages and needs will be significantly higher.

In addition to the mass utility group, Vinhomes Green Paradise also develops projects that can attract more high-spending customer streams. The Green Wave Theater with a scale of 7 hectares, conference area, exhibition area and outdoor event square shows the expectation of bringing Can Gio deeper participation in the MICE market (a type of tourism combining conferences, seminars, exhibitions, Meeting – Incentive – Conference – Event incentives for businesses) and organizing international events.

The investor believes that MICE is an important segment, because visitors often have high spending levels, longer stays and create spillover effects on accommodation, cuisine, transportation and shopping. When combining theaters, convention centers, festival squares with a large-scale hotel system, the project can operate a continuous series of events instead of just welcoming seasonal tourists.

The accommodation system is also a key piece of the puzzle. According to information from the investor, Vinhomes Green Paradise plans to develop a large-scale hotel complex with 7,000 rooms and the participation of 20 international brands. This is very important for the goal of 40 million visitors, because a large number of visitors not only need places to play but also need adequate accommodation capacity. Large-scale hotels help the project welcome family guests, group guests, event guests and international guests at the same time. When the room supply is strong enough, Can Gio can transform from a tourist destination into a new accommodation center of southern tourism.

Another notable pillar is wellness tourism. Vinmec’s presence with the direction of professional cooperation with Cleveland Clinic opens up the possibility of welcoming a stream of visitors in need of medical examination and treatment, recuperation and high-quality health care. This segment is being pursued by many countries, because it not only helps increase spending per tourist but also creates motivation for long-term stays. When combining health, resort and ecology in the same destination, the project can expand the customer base beyond the framework of conventional entertainment tourism.

In addition, the project also integrates many amenities such as: two 18-hole golf courses, international ship port, iconic tower, office area, community center for children and space for the elderly. The goal of this model is to create a place where people can live, work, and relax.

According to the investor’s representative, Vinhomes Green Paradise is not only introduced as a coastal urban area, but as a new center capable of integrating many tourism models into the same destination: resort, entertainment, MICE, health and ecology. It is the synergy between new models that creates the basis for the target of 40 million guests.
