Grossi assessed the situation around the Kursk NPP “seriously”.

Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, speaking today at the general conference of the organization, referred to his recent visits to the Kursk and Zaporizhia nuclear power plants.

He assessed the situation around the Russian Kursk nuclear power plant as “serious”.

At the beginning of August, the Ukrainian forces attacked the Kursk region of Russia and until now they keep territories and settlements under their control.

Regarding Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, Ukraine, which has been under the control of Russian forces since the beginning of the war, Grossi said that 23 shifts of the agency’s specialists have already been completed, and they are working to inform the international community about the situation on the ground.

Grossi stated that no peaceful nuclear power plant, regardless of its location, should under any circumstances be attacked.
