British doctor poisoned mother’s boyfriend with ‘fake Covid vaccine’

A British doctor was sentenced to 31 years in prison for attempting to murder his mother’s boyfriend by injecting a fake “Covid-19 vaccine” containing an extremely toxic substance.

The sentence was announced by Newcastle Crown Court on November 6.

The indictment said that because he believed that his mother’s boyfriend, Mr. Patrick O’Hara, 72 years old, could be a barrier to inheriting the house, Dr. Thomas Kwan, 53 years old, meticulously planned the assassination. grandfather. First, Kwan sent a fake letter with the National Health Service (NHS) logo, a link and a QR code asking to come to O’Hara’s home to vaccinate O’Hara with the Covid-19 vaccine.

The doctor disguised himself as a nurse, wearing full protective gear, sunglasses and a surgical mask, driving a car with fake license plates to Mr. O’Hara’s house in January.

Kwan got the injection iodomethanea substance found in pesticides for O’Hara. This substance caused a necrotic infection, causing Mr. O’Hara to have to be in intensive care for many weeks. Then, he had part of his arm amputated – where the injection site was. He said he had become “an empty shell”.

He also saved instructions on how to make ricin on his computer. Judge Christina Lambert said Kwan was haunted by poison.

According to the judge, Kwan was dissatisfied because he received a smaller inheritance when his father passed away. The relationship between Kwan and his mother is not good. He discovered that in her will, Mrs. Leung allowed O’Hara to stay in the house if she died before him.

“His resentment and bitterness toward his mother and Mr. O’Hara were all related to money and the belief that he was not receiving the money he thought he was entitled to,” Ms. Lambert said.
