Hamburger SV is holding concrete talks with Labbadia

According to a media report, Hamburger SV is conducting concrete discussions with Bruno Labbadia in its search for a new coach. However, according to information from the TV broadcaster Sky, some details still need to be clarified, so it could still take a few days before it can be implemented.

According to Sky, Labbadia, who has already worked as HSV coach twice, is ready for the job with the ambitious second division soccer team. The 58-year-old is convinced of the team’s potential and is highly motivated to achieve the desired promotion to the Bundesliga. Labbadia is close friends with HSV boss Stefan Kuntz. In Kaiserslautern they both won the cup (1990) and became German champions (1991).

Fischer and van Nistelrooy out of the race

According to Sky, the Swiss Urs Fischer, who has not been contacted, has been removed from the list of candidates. Ruud van Nistelrooy, who played for HSV from January 2010 to June 2011 and began his coaching career three years later, will also not succeed Steffen Baumgart. According to consistent English media reports, the 48-year-old Dutchman is about to sign with Premier League club Leicester City.
