British Prince Harry has responded to the rumors about marriage to his wife Meghan Markle. During a conversation about the media and disinformation at the DealBook Summit of The New York Times Harry replied bluntly to a question about his marriage. “Apparently we’ve been divorced ten or twelve times,” he said, laughing.
40-year-old Harry was sitting with New York Timescolumnist Andrew Ross Sorkin on stage for an extensive conversation about mainstream media, disinformation and digital security. At the end of the conversation, Sorkin asked Harry about his struggles with the public fascination with his private life, according to reports People. “People are fascinated by everything you do all the time,” Sorkin said. “They are fascinated by the fact that Meghan is now in California and you are here.”
“Because you invited me, you should have known,” Harry joked. Sorkin then asked whether this attention to the whereabouts of Harry and Meghan felt normal to the prince. “No, that’s absolutely not good,” Harry sighed. “Apparently we have already bought a house ten or twelve times. And apparently we’ve been divorced ten or twelve times. So then I just think: what!?” Harry laughed.
The Duke of Sussex also said he feels sorry for ‘internet trolls’ whose hopes keep growing before nothing happens between Harry and Meghan. According to the rumor mill, things have not been going well between the two for some time. Harry is also said to regret his step back from the British royal family. “The truth is that they have little or nothing in common anymore,” the British tabloid press quoted ‘informed sources’ in October.
