Suren Papikyan left for France on a working visit

On December 15, the delegation led by the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, left for France on a working visit, the military department reported about this without details.

A few days ago, the French ambassador to Armenia, Olivier Dekotigny, and Papikyan discussed the issues on the agenda of cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense and the upcoming tasks.

During this week, Yerevan and Paris held strategic consultations, signed the 2025 defense cooperation plan, and “set a higher bar for the development of cooperation” in the defense sector. However, it was not reported what it was about.

Last year, Yerevan and Paris signed an agreement on military supplies. It was reported that France will supply three GM200 radars and Mistral missiles to Yerevan.

As a result of cooperation in the military sphere, which began in 2023, France also provided Armenia with 24 “Bastion” armored vehicles. It is not yet known whether Paris transferred the three GM200 radars and Mistral missiles to Yerevan.

Months ago in Yerevan, the French Foreign Minister announced that Paris will continue to support Armenia in the field of defense.
