The Edmonton Oilers suffered another defeat in the NHL. The team of German ice hockey star Leon Draisaitl lost 3:5 to the Anaheim Ducks. The day before there had been a narrow 3-4 defeat after extra time at the Los Angeles Kings. Draisaitl scored two goals and thus maintained his streak. The Cologne native has scored points in eleven games in a row.
“That was certainly not our best game,” said Draisaitl: “We let up a little after the first 10 to 13 minutes and gave them the chance to get back into the game.” The Oilers are third in the Pacific with 21 wins from 36 games Division.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Red Wings with Moritz Seider won their first win under new coach Todd McLellan. Seider contributed an assist in the 4-2 win against the Washington Capitals. Alexander Ovetschkin scored his 870th career goal for the guests and moved within 24 goals of ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky’s record.
