“It’s once in your life something like this”: 1,000 singers around Soprano for the New Year on TF 1

A real fireworks display on TF 1? A first in ages on the first channel. Shortly before midnight, this Tuesday evening, the front page will offer a show like no other, presented by Nikos Aliagas with sole guest Soprano. A bold and successful bet. What is the concept? Don’t expect a simple countdown and hugs, TF 1 has brought out the heavy artillery and put together a breathtaking show where pyrotechnic effects, fireworks and an array of drones in the sky combine. All around a concert of 1,000 choristers – who are also dancers – recorded a few days ago in the gardens of the Château de Chantilly (Oise), which has long hosted “Les Nuits de feu”, a competition bringing together the greatest fireworks of the world.

“We came expressly from Bordeaux (Gironde)we were on the bus at two in the morning to be here and we left right after. But it was worth it, you only experience something like this between friends once in your life,” say two excited forty-somethings and passionate singers. With a thousand others from all over France, they rehearsed some of Soprano’s hits to accompany him during the evening.
