Pashinyan received the EU special representative in the South Caucasus

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and Georgia crisis, Magdalena Grono, discussed the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan at today’s meeting.

According to the press release of the Prime Minister’s Office, they also discussed the RA Government’s steps aimed at security and stability in the South Caucasus, as well as referred to the “Crossroads of Peace” project.

Pashinyan noted that the Government today approved the draft law on the initiation of the process of Armenia’s accession to the European Union and reminded that in his speech in the European Parliament in the fall of 2023, he emphasized that the Republic of Armenia is ready to be as close to the European Union as the European Union deems it possible.

Magdalena Grono emphasized the consistent expansion of RA-EU cooperation, including the development of democratic institutions in Armenia and the promotion of reforms.

Magdalena Grono, the EU Special Representative in the South Caucasus, arrived in Yerevan from Baku, where she met with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
