Construction of the first section of the new eastern railway has been completed

Nativei Israel has completed construction of the first section of the new eastern railway, which should connect the north and south of the country, bypassing Gush Dan.

The six-kilometer section connects the coastal railway at the Re’em junction (Pardes Hana-Karkur) with the new Hadera Mizrach station. A line has also been built connecting the eastern railway to the Ambar plant in the Granot industrial zone, the largest producer of agricultural feed in the Middle East.

At this stage, the site will be used only for freight trains, allowing more than 60 heavy trucks per day to be removed from the roads.

Completion of the part of the new eastern railway, which Nativei Israel is responsible for, is expected in the summer of 2026.

This section will connect Hadera with Kfar Saba, and will include Hadera-Mizrach and Tira-Kohav-Yair stations. The site, which is being built by Rakevet Israel, is scheduled to be completed in 2027. It includes the stations of Rosh Ayin Tzafon, Elad and Shoam.

In total, the new eastern railway will consist of two tracks between Lod and the Reem junction, running along the Trans-Israel Highway (Route 6).

The commissioning of the new railway will significantly reduce the load on the coastal railway, limited by the bottleneck of the Ayalon River.
