The leader of the Russian militia was killed in the explosion in Moscow

News agency TASS Russia on February 3 reported that the bomb explosion in the Scarlet Sails apartment building, northwestern Moscow, made Armen Sarkisyan and a bodyguard died as soon as they entered the building lobby.

Sarkisyan, the founder of the Arbat’s Independent Guardian Battalion, was taken to the hospital in a critical condition, but did not survive because of the serious injury. His bodyguard died at the scene of the explosion.

No groups have been responsible for the explosion, but Russian security agencies describe this as an assassination against Sarkisyan.

“This assassination is carefully planned and executed. Investigators are seeking to identify the mastermind,” Tass quoted a Russian executive official.

Sarkisyan’s Arbat Battalion fought in Ukraine in July 2023, who had fought at the Avdeevka Front in Donetsk province and seemed to be participating in the Ukrainian army in Kursk province.

According to Ukrainian media, officials of the country issued an international arrest warrant for Sarkisyan since 2014 due to violence against the EU protesters in the Maidan protest movement.

Sarkisyan’s death occurred nearly two months after the bombing in Moscow in mid -2024, causing the chemical, biological and radioactive force commander Igor Kirillov and his assistant to death. Russian security officials arrested the suspect of Bomb, Akhmad Kurbanov and said the suspect was recruited by Ukrainian intelligence agencies to carry out the assassination of General Kirillov.
