Syrian’s jihadist leader acknowledges that the celebration of elections can be delayed up to five years

The jihadist leader and president of the transition from Syria, Ahmed al Shara, has recognized on Tuesday that the celebration of presidential elections in the country can take between four and five years.

“The period to reach presidential elections requires between four and five years,” he told Shara, who was just one week appointed as a transition president with the mission of forming a temporary legislative council that writes a Constitution.

Al Shara has offered on Monday the first televised interview when there are almost two months of the triumph of the rebellion that headed against President Basha .

Thus, in statements to Syriatv, Al Shara has affirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces, led by the Kurds, would have shown their willingness to deliver their weapons to the central authorities of Syria, now under the control of the jihadists of Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS ).

Al Shara, known in his day by his war name, ‘Abu Mohamed al Golani’, was declared a transition president at the end of January, when he received the mandate of forming a temporary legislative council with a view to the drafting of a new constitution.
