The police told the deputies how many road cameras work on the roads of Israel

According to the data presented by the Israeli police to the deputies of the Knesset at a meeting of the economic commission dedicated to the growth of the number of accidents, there are about 140 cameras on Israeli roads that record speed excess.

In particular, about 100 boxes for the Alef 3 stationary cameras are installed on the tracks, however, some of them are dummies, in fact, about 70-80 chambers of this type work.

In addition, there are about 60 cameras that fix such violations as using a mobile phone or reading documents driving.

Police representatives also said that they plan to place about 50 new speed control systems based on paired chambers installed at a certain distance from each other and fixing the time of travel of this distance. A similar technology has been tested on the 90 highway (Arava highway) for a year, however, there is no budget for the full deployment of the system.
