Ligue 1: The LFP creates the Trophy for Best Dribbler in France, with Eden Hazard for Ambassador

Here is a distinction in which Ousmane Dembélé, Rayan Cherki, Désiré Doué or Moses Simon are legitimately in the right to claim. This Friday, the Professional Football League (LFP) announced in a press release the creation of a new end -of -season trophy: that of Best Dribbler in Ligue 1. With the Ambassador Eden Hazard, Belgian legend of Lille.

“This trophy goes far beyond the statistics, explains the LFP. It rewards a state of mind, a style, an attitude. It is a tribute to daring, creativity and even more, the legacy of street football and the excellence of French training, which have shaped generations of exceptional players, a rare species that makes crowds get up. »»

The League also explains that it has been inspired by Eden Hazard, who “symbolizes the very essence of the ultimate dribbler and now passes the torch to the new generations”, for the design of the trophy logo. He takes over a photo of the Belgian in action, when he played in Lille, where he was notably champion of France in 2011.

In its press release, the LFP specifies the method of allocation of the trophy, “according to a regulation combining statistical, collective and style criteria (performance measurement, tribbled/successful dribbles, contribution for the game, style, elegance and complexity of the dribbling, behavior …) and a vote carried by a group of experts (ex-players/coaches, journalists, personalities …), but also with the participation of fans. The nominees for this first edition of the trophy will be revealed in early May.
