Agreement between Lufthansa and union on wage increase for ground staff

German airline Lufthansa has reached an agreement with trade union Ver.di on a wage increase for ground staff. This means that further actions by the approximately 20,000 ground workers have been cancelled.

Lufthansa employees will receive a wage increase of at least EUR 325 per month and then another 2.5 percent in three steps. Ver.di originally demanded a 9.5 percent pay rise and had been in talks with Lufthansa about a pay rise since the end of June.

Lufthansa ground crews went on strike last week. Then the German airline had to cancel more than 1,000 flights.
