A number of measures will be implemented to mitigate energy inflation. Mitsokatis

Greek Prime Minister Kirakos Mitsokatis has announced that a number of additional measures will be applied to mitigate the rise in energy prices as a result of the Middle East war.

In a televised address, Mitsotakis noted that the government has planned 300 million euros of support for households and farmers for the months of April and May.
The subsidies are aimed at reducing the cost of diesel fuel, gasoline and fertilizers. Part of the initiative also aims to curb the increase in ticket prices for ferries to the islands.

Oil prices rose on Monday after the United States and Israel warned over the weekend that the war against Iran, which has disrupted oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, could continue for several more weeks.

“Since no one knows how long this war will last, it is obvious that we are keeping reserves in case the global economic situation worsens significantly,” said the Greek Prime Minister.
