Iranian Foreign Ministry denies Trump’s statement about negotiations

Iran’s Foreign Ministry has denied US President Donald Trump’s statement about the start of US-Iranian negotiations to end hostilities in the Middle East.

“Iran continues to reject all types of negotiations until the goals of the war are achieved. Trump’s statements mean that he has abandoned past ultimatums. Our position on the Strait of Hormuz remains unchanged – it is closed to our enemies,” the statement said.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-affiliated Fars news agency quoted an official source as saying there was no contact with Trump, either through intermediaries or directly: “After realizing that all the power plants in West Asia had become targets, he backed down.”
